FAQs

Do you choose the location?

I will work with you to choose a location that suits you and your family. Sometimes we have a certain "vision" in our minds, but it may not always be the right choice. I have preferred tried and tested outdoor and studio locations that I love to use and we will discuss these once your session has been confirmed.

What time are the sessions?

Most of my outdoor sessions are done at golden hour. And "what is golden hour?" I hear you ask. This is the hour before the sun sets in the evening and the first hour after it rises in the morning. It can be the most beautiful, flattering, non squinty time of day and simply one of the best times to shoot. Newborn sessions commence mid-morning, around 10:00am.

How long are the sessions?

That depends on the session you choose. My Price Guide has all the information about times and what is involved in each session. Family and maternity sessions are between 45mins to 1 hour and newborn sessions are around 2-2.5 hours. Some children can also take about 30 mins to warm up in front of the camera and I don't ever have a set time limit on sessions - I don't ever want to make you feel rushed.

Do you take a deposit?

Yes - all bookings require the Session Fee to be paid as soon as possible to secure your date once it has been confirmed by me. If the session fee is not paid, your date is not secured.

Can I reschedule?

I will always aim to be as flexible as possible for my clients because I'm a mum, I get it. Kids get sick, then mum's get sick, or it's thunder storming, etc. It is always best to keep the lines of communication open between us and I'll work with reschedule requests as best I can. But please note, session fees are non refundable and constant reschedule requests will not be accepted.

My house is not suitable for a newborn photoshoot!

I'll let you in on a secret - hardly anyone's house is set up for a photoshoot! My in-home newborn sessions are very focused on the connection of you with your new baby and then all of their little features. I do not need a lot of space, all I need is a couple of rooms chosen by you, whether it be the master bedroom, the nursery, a living room, etc, that has the best and most natural light at the time of the session. I can work around the rest. I can also provide alternative options if required should you not feel comfortable having the session in your home.

What do we wear?

I will guide with this every step of the way. From the moment you have confirmed your booking I will be there to give advice on what everyone joining you in the session can wear. I have a beautiful curated women's client wardrobe which is included in every session and I offer a Style Guide which offers really helpful suggestions for adults and children - including colour palettes, patterns, accessories, etc. It does not have to be an expensive exercise nor do you need to go and buy all new wardrobes. It's about basics and I am always there for advice.

Still not sure? Got more questions? No problemo! I would be more than happy to chat through any queries or concerns you might have before booking your session, just get in touch.
